Tailor's Wood for Ironing - Classic Version - The eometric Clapper
Tailor's Wood for Ironing - Classic Version - The eometric Clapper
Perfect for flattening seams, folds and zippers.
- The Clapper is an essential instrument to achieve a professional iron finish. The wood traps the steam from the iron and retains it in the fabric for longer, resulting in clean seams and well-defined folds. By putting pressure on the tailor's wood we will obtain results similar to an ironing press.
- Perfect for opening and flattening seams - straight or curved - without marking the fabric, and avoiding burns on hands and fingers.
- It is ideal for checking seams and folds in finished garments.
- Dimensions: 24 cm x 7 cm x 3.5 cm
- Made in Barcelona using FSC European beech hardwood
Instructions for use: The tailor's wood is used by pressing and lifting slightly to move it to another point, avoiding dragging it on the fabric. Always do a test on a scrap of fabric to observe its behavior and the result. Take special care when working with delicate or transparent fabrics. The clapper will glide well on fabrics that do not snag easily. Remember: lift and press, lift and press!
Care: Tailor wood is made of natural hard wood, it still reacts to temperature and humidity, but with a little care it will last a lifetime. If it falls off or cracks, sand it carefully so it doesn't snag fabrics. If the grain of the wood lifts, you need to sand it gently with very fine sandpaper, wipe off excess dust with a microfiber cloth, if the cloth still catches, you need to sand it more. During the manufacturing process, the grain has been pre-lifted with water and then sanded, but as it is a natural product, we cannot guarantee its 100% fastness. If your clapper performs poorly because it was made from wood from an unruly tree, please let us know, and we will do our best to fix the problem.
